Frequently Asked Questions

What are the preschool hours?

Christ the King Preschool opens at 9:30a.m. Dismissal begins at 12:30 and ends promptly at 12:40. Kindergarten Readiness and Four Day Fours classes are in session until 1:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Children not picked up on time are subject to a late pickup fee of $5.00 for every five minutes after 12:40p.m. (1:40p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).

What is the arrival/departure system at the Preschool?

The Preschool does not have a carpool line system. Children should be walked by a parent to their class and picked up at the class each day. For their safety, children should never enter or exit the building unescorted by an adult.

Should I have placed my child on the Preschool's wait list before he was born?

Christ the King Preschool does not offer rolling admissions. Registration is offered each January for one year only. Returning and new students must apply each year in January proceeding the school year for which they are applying.

What is the school year calendar?

The school year calendar begins the day after Labor Day and ends before Memorial Day. During the active school year, we generally follow the Gwinnett County School System Calendar.

What should I do if my child has a change in schedule?

If your child has a change in schedule, such as going home with another child, please communicate the change in writing and be sure that the teacher receives the note. If an emergency arises unexpectedly during school hours, please call the preschool office at 770-49-7217.

How do I contact someone at the school with questions?
You may call Karen DeVed anytime during school hours via the Preschool office phone, 770-449-7217. You may also e-mail her at karen.deved@ctkpreschool.com. Because Ms. DeVed is frequently in classrooms and meetings with parents, she is not always immediately available to answer your call. An office answering machine is checked frequently, so please leave a message.

When is tuition due?
Tuition for the school year (September through May) is divided into nine equal payments, each of which is due within the first seven (7) days of the month. The only exception to this schedule is September, as tuition for the first month is due at the time of registration. Currently, tuition is accepted via check or cash only.
